Cookies Policy
This policy explains how Houston Extended Stay uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can control them.
Last updated: April 16, 2026
Houston Extended Stay(“we,” “our,” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on HoustonExtendedStay.com(the “Site”). This Cookies Policy is part of, and should be read alongside, our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags. In this policy, we use “cookies” to refer to all of these.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the Site to function. They enable core features such as page navigation, secure sign-in to the homeowner or admin dashboard, CSRF protection on forms, and remembering the items in your quote or booking request. The Site will not work properly without them and they cannot be switched off in our preference center.
- hes_session — keeps you signed in to the homeowner or admin dashboard.
- hes_cookie_consent— remembers your cookie choice so we don’t show the banner on every visit.
Functional
These cookies remember choices you make to improve your experience, such as your last rental search (dates, neighborhood, number of guests). They are only set after you accept cookies.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site — for example, which rental pages are viewed most, how long people stay, and which referring sites drive traffic. These cookies are only set after you accept cookies. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles and we do not sell your data.
Marketing
We do not currently run third-party advertising or retargeting on the Site. If that changes, we will update this policy and give you a clear choice before any marketing cookies are set.
3. Third-party services
Some pages of the Site load content or functionality from trusted third parties. These providers may set their own cookies, subject to their own privacy notices:
- Stripe — for payment authorization and fraud prevention when you complete a booking.
- Google Maps — when you view a property map or use address lookup on our forms.
- Vercel — our hosting provider, which may set minimal cookies for load balancing and security.
We do not control cookies set by third parties. Please review their policies if you’d like more detail.
4. Your choices
When you first visit the Site we show a banner that lets you Accept or Reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the button below.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, browse privately, or be notified before a cookie is stored. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Site from working.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no industry standard for how sites must respond to DNT, so we do not rely on it alone. We honor the choice you make in our cookie banner and preference center instead.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Site or to applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, in our cookie banner.
