The Galleria & Uptown: Where Executives Stay in Houston
The Galleria is our most-booked neighborhood. Here's why — and what to look for when you pick a furnished home in Uptown Houston.
Last updated
The Galleria is the single most-booked neighborhood in our portfolio. Consultants, executives, attorneys, and upscale relocations all end up here — and for good reason.
What makes the Galleria different
- Walkability with density. Post Oak Boulevard is one of the few streets in Houston where you can walk from your apartment to dinner, a meeting, and shopping.
- The Galleria mall itself. More than 400 stores and 30+ restaurants under one roof.
- Offices. Williams Tower, the Post Oak Hotel's office tower, and dozens of other corporate addresses are within a few blocks.
- Freeway access. 610 and 59 give you fast paths to Downtown, the Medical Center, and Energy Corridor.
We don't currently have Galleria inventory — for Galleria-bound executives our Chateau Gold, a 5-bedroom featured home in the Medical Center Area, is our closest inside-the-loop placement (10–15 minutes to Uptown).
How Uptown and the Galleria relate
"Uptown" is the broader business district that includes the Galleria. Uptown stretches from 610 east to Sage Road, and roughly from San Felipe south to Richmond. The Galleria is the retail heart; Uptown is the surrounding neighborhood.
Who the Galleria works for
- Executives on 30–180 day corporate engagements.
- Consultants billing clients with offices in the Uptown towers.
- Families relocating to Houston who want to decide on a permanent neighborhood while still being central.
- Travelers who want upscale restaurants within walking distance.
What to look for in a Galleria furnished rental
Private garage or reserved parking
Galleria parking fills up, especially around the holidays. Dedicated garage parking is worth paying for.
Concierge or on-site management
The larger Galleria buildings have concierge teams that handle packages, deliveries, and guests — a big quality-of-life boost on long stays.
Real office space
Most Galleria guests work remote at least two days a week. A dedicated desk or second bedroom matters.
Gym access
Weather in Houston doesn't always support outdoor runs. Building gyms and The Post Oak's fitness options keep you moving.
Walkability to Williams Tower and the Water Wall
Little things. Post Oak at sunset around the Water Wall is one of the best free experiences in Houston.
Costs
For a 2-bedroom furnished apartment in the Galleria at 30+ nights, expect $260–$345 per night. A 3-bedroom executive townhome typically runs $280–$395. River Oaks and Upper Kirby immediately next door are slightly higher.

Eating and drinking
The Galleria has a legitimate restaurant scene — Steak 48, Turning Basin, La Table, Uchi, Hillstone. A lot of Uptown corporate stays turn into multi-week client-entertainment loops.
Commute check
From the Galleria:
- Downtown: 15–25 minutes
- Medical Center: 15 minutes
- Energy Corridor: 20–30 minutes
- Hobby Airport: 30 minutes
- George Bush Intercontinental (IAH): 30–45 minutes
FAQ
Is the Galleria walkable for a month-long stay?
Yes — within the Post Oak corridor. You can walk to restaurants, the mall, and most offices. Outside the immediate Post Oak area, you'll want a car.
What are the best Galleria rentals for executives?
A 2-3 bedroom townhome or high-rise apartment with a private garage. We don't currently have Galleria inventory; our Chateau Gold, a 5-bedroom featured home in the Medical Center Area, is our closest placement for Galleria-bound executives.
How does the Galleria compare to River Oaks for long stays?
River Oaks is quieter, more residential, and more expensive. The Galleria is more walkable and more convenient for business stays.
Are Uptown rentals family-friendly?
Many are. A larger townhome with a fenced patio and a second or third bedroom works well for families relocating short-term.
Is there a grocery store I can walk to from most Galleria rentals?
Yes — the HEB at San Felipe and several smaller markets on Westheimer are walkable or a 2-minute drive.
