Bellaire & Meyerland: Houston's Family-Friendly Long Stay Pick
Bellaire and Meyerland are where we place most of our relocating families. Great schools, quiet streets, and short hops to the Medical Center and the Galleria.
Last updated
When a family asks us for a furnished Houston rental for three-to-nine months, the answer is usually Bellaire or Meyerland. Quiet residential streets, highly-rated schools, and a short drive to both the Medical Center and the Galleria make it one of the most consistent long-stay picks in our portfolio.
Why families pick Bellaire & Meyerland
- Schools. Bellaire High School and nearby HISD campuses consistently rank in the Texas top tier, and both Bellaire and Meyerland are surrounded by well-regarded private options.
- Quiet streets. Oak-canopy blocks, yards, and sidewalks — closer to a suburban feel than anywhere else this close to the Loop.
- Location. You're 10 minutes from the Texas Medical Center, 15 from the Galleria, and 20–25 to Downtown.
- Grocery and services. H-E-B on Bellaire Boulevard, Trader Joe's, multiple pharmacies and pediatric clinics within a short drive.
- Size of home. Unlike Montrose or Downtown, here you get 3, 4, and 5-bedroom single-family homes with fenced yards — which is what relocating families actually need.
Our Casa Luna, a 4-bedroom Bellaire home, and Villa Capri, a 5-bedroom 4.5-bath flagship in Bellaire / Meyerland, are our two most-booked homes for relocating families.
Who it's right for
- Relocating families on a 60–180 day runway before signing a 12-month lease. Follow the full path in our relocating to Houston guide.
- Medical-stay families. Close to MD Anderson and Texas Children's without the density of the immediate TMC footprint. Caregivers with kids especially value the yard and quiet sleep.
- Insurance-placed homeowners displaced from a Bellaire, Meyerland, or West University home. ALE placements often require a comparable single-family home in the same school zone — see our insurance housing guide.
- Executives wanting space over walkability. If you're flying in a spouse and kids for part of the stay, the Galleria is a 15-minute drive and Bellaire gives you four or five bedrooms you can't get Uptown.
Schools
Public: Bellaire and Meyerland fall largely in HISD, with strong elementary, middle, and high-school campuses. Bellaire High School, in particular, is one of Houston's best-known comprehensive high schools.
Private: The Emery/Weiner School, Beth Yeshurun Day School, The Shlenker School, and — slightly further out — St. John's, Kinkaid, and The Village School are common picks for relocating families.
Before booking for a school-year stay, confirm the address's school zone using the HISD school finder.
What to expect day-to-day
- Morning. Coffee at home, school drop-off, gym or a quick Buffalo Bayou / MacGregor Park walk.
- Midday. Groceries at H-E-B Bellaire, a pharmacy run, lunch at one of the Bellaire Chinatown spots (one of Houston's best food strips).
- After school. Kids at Evelyn's Park or playgrounds along Bellaire Boulevard.
- Weekend. Hermann Park and the museums are 10 minutes away — see our Montrose & Museum District guide for the family-friendly cultural side.
Costs
For a 3-bedroom furnished home in Bellaire or Meyerland at 30+ nights, expect $235–$325 per night. A 4-bedroom runs $295–$395, and a 5-bedroom flagship like Villa Capri sits at the higher end. Monthly rates improve meaningfully at 30 and 90 nights; longer family stays often negotiate further.
Our general cost framing is in corporate housing vs hotels in Houston.
Amenities that matter for a family long stay

FAQ
Is Bellaire a good neighborhood for a relocating family?
Yes — it is one of the most common placements we make for relocating families on a 60–180 day runway. Schools, yards, and proximity to the Medical Center and Galleria are the usual reasons.
Are Bellaire schools good?
Public schools in the area are consistently strong by Houston standards, and Bellaire High School specifically is one of the best-known comprehensive high schools in the city. Always confirm the specific address's school zone before booking.
Can I bring a dog to a Bellaire furnished rental?
Most of our Bellaire and Meyerland homes are pet-friendly. Fenced yards and sidewalks make it a comfortable neighborhood for dogs.
How far is Bellaire from MD Anderson?
10 minutes door-to-door off-peak. A common choice for medical-stay families who want a yard and multiple bedrooms but still close access to the TMC.
What's the minimum stay in a Bellaire furnished rental?
30 nights on most properties, and pricing improves at 90+ nights. Longer family stays are the sweet spot for these larger homes.
